Have you ever dreamed about a career as a 3D artist or designer in film, television, video games or other fields? It’s very competitive out there and you’ll need a head start. That’s where the 3D Design and Technology program comes in. You will focus first on learning the fundamentals of high-end industry-standard software applications. Next, you will have a opportunity to apply your skills and imagination to various specialty areas in 3D art and design: Modeling, Texture Mapping, Cameras and Lighting, Animation, Game Level Design, and Special Effects. This an art and design class, NOT a computer class. Computers are only the tools we use.
As you master the basics, you earn greater flexibility to design larger projects that are consistent with your own interests. In addition, the class will focus on what it really takes to break in to this intensely competitive field. We’ll look at educational options and possible paths to a career. Many of our students have gone on to top art and game design schools around the country and they report that this class was an important first step.
NOTE TO PARENTS AND COUNSELORS: This program has been fully aligned with the Oregon Dept. of Education's academic standards in The Arts and meets the current diploma standard for Career Related Learning Experiences.
